UNITED NATIONS MILITARY OBSERVERS COURSE (UNMOC) – 23

UN Military Observers Course was conducted by the Department of Peacekeeping and Training (PKT) at the Centre for International Peace & Stability (CIPS). The course commenced on February 24th, 2020, and successfully concluded on March 6th, 2020.  Out of a total of 25 participants, that course had an impressive representation from ten friendly countries including two participants from Bangladesh, two from Ghana and Jordan, and two from Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, and Nigeria. In addition, fourteen officers of the Pakistan Army also attended the course. During the course, the participants were trained and sensitized about the specifics of the mission area in order to ensure maximum performance when on the field. The participants have also engaged in mission area-specific practical training sessions in order to impart among them, a more contextualized understanding of their areas of deployment. Apart from the curricular activities, the participants were also taken round on extra-curricular activities during their stay in Rawalpindi/ Islamabad. From visits to sites such as Taxila to shopping at various Malls in Islamabad, the participants were engaged to fully experience not just the rich culture but the hospitality of the Pakistani people.
Certificates were awarded among the participants during the closing ceremony of the course which took place on March 6th, 2020.
