UNITED NATIONS PROTECTION OF CIVILIAN COURSE – 4
-- Gen. United Nations Protection of Civilian Course – 4 (UNPoCC – 4) was conducted at Centre for International Peace and Stability (CIPS), NUST Islamabad from 14 Jan 2019 to 25 Jan 2019with a purpose to educate/sensitize the participants about the functioning of UN and roles and responsibilities of the Peacekeepers and educating participants of working with peacekeeping operation to develop a conceptual framework for PoC
- Participation. 34 students from the army, police, and civilian attended the course. 13officers including 11 female officers from the Pakistan Army, 3 officers from Pakistan Police, Eight officers from friendly countries, and 12 civilians from different education institutions attended the UNPoCC-4. The foreign participants were from Egypt, Jordon, Libya, and Sri Lanka.
- Conduct Methodology. The course mainly focused on the latest Specialized Training Material (STM) for the Protection of Civilians. However, important and relevant lectures from Core Pre-deployment Training Module (CPTM 2107) were also included. Subject Matters Experts (SMEs) also delivered lectures. Reps of relevant UN Organizations like UNWOMEN, UNOCHA, UNHCR, UNAIDS also delivered lectures. The phases/ segments of conduct were:-
